The “Ultimate Twitter Toolbox” is what they call themselves. BrightKit is a new tool for managing multiple Twitter accounts, scheduling tweets. If you are planning to tweet something important or break out a news at a later time, wish someone on their anniversary, maintain a consistent online presense, etc, this feature can be quite useful. The Interface of BrightKit is very clean. This is how the dashboard looks like for a single Twitter account.
BrightKit also have an inbuilt URL shortening feature so that you don’t have to use any seperate service for the same. It shortens the URLs into http://ow.ly/XX type.
The best feature though is that they monitor the click-through stats for links that you shortened and tweeted. This feature along with the multiple account monitoring feature will be of great appeal to businesses using Twitter as a tool to create awareness for their product. The click-through data is compiled and updated only once daily, I would want a realtime monitoring though. Hopefully they will incorporate this feature in the future.
Another thing I like about Twitter is how they allow interaction between potential customers and businesses, answering to queries, getting feedbacks, etc. Many businesses have taken advantage of this and BrightKit was no different.
For example, I wasn’t able to choose a time-zone while signing up for BrightKit, somewhat frustrated I tweeted about it. And BrightKit replied!
Now that’s understandable, since they are still in beta.
If you have multiple Twitter accounts, or use Twitter for business, give BrightKit a try. Even if you have just one account, check it out, it’s pretty cool. The first account is always free and additional accounts will be free only during beta. Price details yet to be announced. But as BrightKit says “Don’t worry. It’ll be ‘cheep’“
