Novatel, on 9th Dec 2008, unveiled the MiFi – an Intelligent Mobile Hotspot. MiFi is a portable wireless router that will deliver wireless 3G data network access to multiple users in a small area.
Evdoinfo mentions that, MiFi line creates a personal cloud of high-speed Internet connectivity that can be easily shared between multiple users and Wi-Fi devices such as laptops, cameras, gaming devices and multimedia players.

Pricing and Availability
The MiFi line of Intelligent Mobile Hotspots will be commercially available in Q109 through a variety of Novatel Wireless’s global tier-one operator customers and retail channels.
According to Engagenet, MiFi should be available for less than $300, by first quarter of 2009. Not sure though, if the same can be said about India.
If it launches in India, that would be perfect as 3G was launched in India few days back and the 3G spectrum auction will take place sometime in mid Jan, 2009.
