If you are thinking of creating a custom background for your twitter homepage, MyTweetSpace is one of the most easiest way you can go about doing it. You just have to pick a theme and add some details like you website, blog, Facebook link, Linkedin profile, etc. After the background has been created, you just have to download it and upload to your twitter account(twitter -> settings -> design). It is that simple.
However I wasn’t satisfied with the result. The display area on the left is too narrow and long URLs(Facebook link, et al) weren’t displayed properly. If you enter too many details/links, some of them can’t be seen as there isn’t enough space.
So if you are using MyTweetSpace, you can try using URL Shorteners to get shortened links instead of the original long ones. Also don’t give too many details/links, select a few services(preferably 2 more links other than your website/blog) you think is important.
While MyTweetSpace isn’t “The only way to completely customize and brand your twitter space on the web”, it certainly is an easy way to create a simple, custom background.
I would love to hear your views if you have tried it.
