Here I have listed 17 of my favourite Free and Premium Wordpress Themes in an attempt to help you choose a good theme. I have included magazine layout themes as well as blog layout themes.

Comfy has all the basic magazine features, but the reason I listed it first is beacuse of it gives visitors full control over hompage and sidebar widgets. Visitors can minimize, maximize, close any widget. Here’s the complete feature list of Comfy.
2. Arthemia V2

Arthemia is a not too magazine-ish nor too blog-ish free WP Theme. This has to be one of the most commonly used magazine theme. It features a drop-down menu, blue-and-black category bar, automatic image resizer. Customizing the theme is easy, for more visit the theme’s homepage.

4. The Morning After

The Morning After was created by Arun Kale based on a brief survey about what people would want to see in a unique magazine-style theme. It has a very clean magazine style layout. You can highlight ‘featured’ post, supports automatic thumbnail generation, threaded comments and the likes. This theme will need some customization on your part. If you plan to use this theme, read the documentation first.

5. Agregado

Agredado features a built-in lifestream module and contact form with custom control panel options in an effort to bring back the idea of personal website. This theme aggregates information about you, from sites ike Flickr, Twitter, Delicious and publishes it on your homepage. It also displays the user info and a contact form on the homepage itself.
6. Irresistible

Irresistible, as the name suggest is a truely irrestible theme. Similar to Agregado, it also integrate your lifestream on the homepage. Only difference is that, Irresistible uses the Lifestream Plugin. You can easily integrate a video player too. The theme comes with 9 different colour schemes to choose from.
7. Statement

Statement features two sidebars on the right, and looks very neat. It also has a tabbed section for recent posts, comments and archives. If you are searching for a simple and professinal looking theme, this just might be the right theme for you.

Magazine Basic 2.0, as the name suggest, has to be the most basic looking magazine theme out there. But don’t get fooled by it’s look, this theme is packed in features. Visit the homepage to know more about it’s features.

Androida, ‘sleek’ is the word that comes to mind when I see this theme. Based on the Android phone niche, this theme offers the user to choose from a business template or blog template layout.
